Gloria Jean’s, Hot Chocolate, K-Cups for Keurig Brewers, 24-Count Box

  1. Seriously not good at all. The whole family tried the K cups and all of us thought it was nasty!

  2. I have settled on the “Extra Bold” coffee for my Keurig machine. I love hot chocolate though, and I’ve tried enough of them to come to the conclusion that I’ll stick to the little packets I can even buy in bulk at the “large box” stores, or at more selective specialty stores, which is my choice. I haven’t found a good k-cup of cocoa yet. Not really much of a hassle, the selection is better and saves money. Timothy’s Rainforest Expresso or Emerils jazzed-up coffee for the Keurig and the packets, or tins of loose powder, for hot chocolate. I can live with this.

  3. I’m a huge fan of Kuerig and the K-Cups, however all of the Hot Chocolate varieties from all of the vendors are over priced and sub-par. There is no filter and no real brewing that occurs in these products. A hole is punched in the top and bottom of the K-Cup and hot water is run through the instant hot chocolate mix. You can see what I mean by removing the foil of one of the sample k-cups provided.

Since the cocoa mix sits on the bottom of the flat k-Cup, all of the instant cocoa is not dispensed into your cup.

Save your money and buy packets of hot chocolate and run a water cycle trough the Kuerig to add the hot water (much faster than the microwave). You are doing essentially doing the same…the only difference is that the hot water comes into contact with the cocoa in the K-Cup instead of in the bottom of your mug.

    Hope this helps.

  4. per my step-daughter this is watery and doesn’t even taste like chocolate. We will keep looking for a decent k-cup hot chocolate.

  5. I generally like Gloria Jean’s coffees, so I ordered the hot chocolate as the Green Mountain is not available on Amazon. After brewing several cups of VERY watery chocolate, I cut open the foil tops. In every one approximately 1/3 to 1/2 of the product was still in the cup, in some cases still dry! In order to use up the remaining cups, I simply made a cup of hot water with the Keurig (no cup inserted), cut open the K-cup, & stirred in the powder. (It proved easier than trying to scrape out wet product from a brewed cup.)

In any event, the flavor was still weak & lacking any cocoa flavor. I don’t recommend this particular product, although GJ flavored COFFEES are usually quite good.
